Gavin & Huiling – Up the Faraway Tree
“and yup! We are done!” I said, after checking my camera screen.
“woohoo!” was Gavin and Huiling’s happy cheer..
Huiling told me it’s like her dream to have her prewedding taken on a tree.. so there we were laughing, tree climbing (with a bit of ant-chasing) and having adventures.
Wilson & Carrie – Baked with love
I really really like it when Couples combine their love for something with the Engagement shoots. It speaks so much about them.. About who they are, how they spent their time and enjoy doing. and today, Im sharing a shoot I had done with Wilson & Carrie.. which is their Love for baking (and nevertheless to say, each other)..
We bought out the baking tray, the icing sugar, the egg-beater and all things nice and spicey.. But with a twist, we bought everything outdoor, to a beach! (Nay, the kitchen’s too usual and expected!)
So, enjoy the pictures, peep.. Baked with Love.

Ben & Cecilia – Time Travellers’
Ever had a crush when you were schooling? Im sure you did.. Heck, I’m sure we all did in fact, at some point of time. And I remember it almost makes schooling bearable, hey, FUN in fact!
Like peeping eagerly under desk to see if she has left any notes for you.
Doodling tiny heart-shapes around his name.
Today’s Couple meet wayyy back in School.. so we ‘time-travelled’ and went back for a shoot. No prizes for guessing which school, and we even found a piano there. I almost pee-ed myself, I been wanting and wanting to shoot with one of these babies since, a gazillion years back!
Enjoy the picture peeps..

Alicia & Michael – Happy Holiday
I am so sorry for the lack of posts, its not that I do not have photos to show, I actually have TONS im just dying to show. It’s I am living on ‘Stolen Time’ now (a phrase I stole from one of my fav. Photographer).. I am just so mad busy here I wish there’s 3more Melodys..
Anyway.
OhDear’s first Birthday is coming and I had met quite a number of couples over the year. But I do still get butterflies the night before the shoot. I would wonder would we ‘click’? Would they be nice peeps? Etc etc. I used to forward to seeing what clothes they would turn up in and their props.
Nothing works better then carefully planned outfits.
But over the time of shooting, I realized it not the outfit that matters. Sure, turning up in beautiful gowns and suits, having unique props do score points (not with me lah, the photos!) but it’s the very raw emotions and happiness of being Engaged that matters the most.
Alicia and Michael is one such Couple. They turned up in the most casual outfit (not complaining!) but my lens love them. Why? Cause they are simply Naturals. If ever Love can be captured, it would be through the happiness on newly-engaged couples, the smile on their faces and the way they look at each other.. and I see that on them..
That being said, I still do not wanna see my couples turning up in ratty old slippers har.
So here’s the picture from Alicia and Michael HappyHoliday.. As usual, Enjoy Peeps!

Jamie & JieLiang – Painting with Lights
I once read that the word “photography” comes from Greek roots. Photo means ‘light’. Graphein means ‘to write’.. To write with Lights..
How beautiful and how true.
Here’s afew selecteds of Jamie & JieLiang’s session, shot in the classic Chinese Garden.. with beautiful evening rays..
Enjoy the serenity of it peeps.. =)

Cynthia & Bryant – Happy Birthday Out
They say Opposite attracts and I cant agree more! heh.. Cause Cynthia super love photoshoots while bryant.. well, he doesn’t like facing cameras at all! Haha..
but on Cynthia’s birthday, we went strolling along the country side, we went picnic-ing and had a lovely time. Thank you B & C! ♥

Alvin & Ruth – Star Lovers
I am a self-confessed Bad Writer. Always been. In fact when I was schooling, I was always the only one who nearly flunk my compositions.. Gag!
Well maybe I ought to explain abit about the title, might it be ’cause both of them love Starbucks, they bought a star to the shoot as props and erm erm, they go starry-eyes at each other.. (ok. I made that up, slightly. ahem)
So just the other day, I was out shooting Alvin and Ruth, I was telling Ruth about what a horrible writer I am and that sometimes, I just cant find words beautiful enough to describe my couples and shoots. So Ruth suggested letting the bride “guest-blogging” instead and so.. here’s what she has to say about the shoot!
” Alvin and I had a hard time choosing where to have our shoot because we’ve seen how both and urban and “ulu” places can be beautiful backdrops in the hands of a good photographer. We eventually decided to stay in the city because we’re really urbanites at heart and wanted to be shot at places that mean something to us!
I was quite concerned about how the shoot would turn out ‘cos I’m not a natural model. But Melody made it easy and we ended up having a lot of fun. We were also blessed with wonderful clear weather that day (it was raining throughout the rest of the week)! Thanks Melody!
” -Ruth

Szehui & Luke – You are my SunShine
I have one beautiful shoot to share today. I think what makes a good photo is a genuine happy and relaxed smile, lots of laughters and some perfect sunrays won’t hurt. I think SzeHui and Luke totally nailed it. I love how perfectly at ease they are infront of the camera. =D
We were blessed with gorgeous golden morning sunlight that day and man, it was Beautiful.
Szehui also did her Family shoot with me, so we went for a Picnic at Botanic Garden. Well a picture speaks 1000 words..
So here’s “14000 words” for you peeps..
Enjoy!

Worm & Wendy – Loveworms
Well well well, what can I say about Worm and Wendy.. They are one of my Funkiest, funniest, cutiest and lively-est (is there such a word?) couple. What can you expect when his name is Worm right. ;P
“We are rough, cool, lovely, nonsense and funny (puke) so i think romantic, clean and soft feel don’t fit us… haha” - Worm
and how true indeed!
What was supposed to be this….

Turned out like this!

Hahaha.. And what was supposed to be like This…

Turned out this way!

How fun how Cute! I love lively couples who are not afraid to have fun infront of a camera.. Heh..
And oh man, they came to the shoot early in the morning when they just got back to Singapore at midnight the previous night! I can’t believe how energetic they are.. ( I would be a walking zombie if I am deprived of my 8hours sleep.. X_x )
So here’s Worm and Wendy’s Engagements.. Full of glorious sunshine, Totally wild and Totally unplanned.. Enjoy peeps!!

Rahayu & Firdhaus – United, We will never walk alone!
Have you watched the malay movie titled ” Seniman Bujang Lapok ” (The Three Bachelors as Actors) before?
It’s one of the most popular and iconic Malay movies/comedies of all time by Shaw Brothers during the 60s..
When Rahayu & Firdhaus told me they wanna do a few iconic scenes from the movie, I was like “Oh Wow, that’s challenging”..
But I think I was stressing myself too much, the shoot turned out so fun! They’re natural actors.. heh..
For the second part, Rahayu wanted to incorporate their love for Soccer into the shoot.. and they are Rival Fans! How cute right..
So here’s Rahayu & Firdhaus’s Engagement, enjoy peeps and I wish you a very very very blissful marriage!!

How many of you believe Stars have the power to grant wishes?
Well whatever it is, they do look gorgeous in photos don’t they? (yes justin & sharon AND the stars)
So enjoy the photos peep and have a blissful marriage justin & sharon!
“not a single star was left or harmed in the process of making these photos” - Justin

Bridal Gown & Suit – di Gio
Hairdo & Makeup – Bride’s own
The days when Apples and Blackberries were still Fruits
Remember our 2nd Giveaway? Well, here’s the Result!
ChunKai and Maureen knew each other through Twitter. (Ahh the amazement of technology nowadays) So while brainstorming about their shoot, we decided to give it a vintage twist and have their shoot at the last kampong of Singapore.
And to add in the “Twitter” in the kampong, we had a tin-can-telephone! =D
We also brought along all-time fav childhood toys like the skipping rope, marbles (also lovingly named Gor-Li!), bubbles etc and had a fun morning..
Hope you guys enjoyed!

Alvin & JieYin – Cycle down The Lane
Couple of weeks back, I was telling my mum happily “I love my job! Who gets to cycle around East Coast Park on a Sunday when they are working?”
She cheekily reply “Got! The Security Guard.”
Nice one, Mum.
Anyway, here’s Alvin and JieYin’s Engagement done at East Coast Park.. We rented a couple of Bikes (to get around quickly and easily) and went around finding lovely spots. Alvin even showed me the very particular spot he proposed to JieYin and told me the story of how ‘random’ it was. Sweet. Thanks for the lovely afternoon and I hope you guys have a blissful marriage!

Eugene & Sandi & Little Bebe
she told me “a picnic setting with lots of flowers and nice food, complete with a picnic basket and an irritating little poodle.”
So on one bright sunny morning, we had a beautiful picnic with Eugene, Sandi and LittleBebe.. Well, LittleBebe wasn’t annoying. She’s adorable!
Enjoy peeps!

Justina & Shawn – Black&Whites
Did you know we actually do offer Vouchers? So you can get them as gifts for parents/friends’ anniversary or say Engagement presend. ![]()
Evelyn (see her shoot here!), my primary school mate, Gifted Justina a OhDear Voucher as a Engagement Present.. and on the day of our shoot, we realised both me and Justina live just opposite each other! (But I had never seen her around the block before.) Aww Life’s little coincidences.
They are offically Mr & Mrs Ang now.. So congrats and all the best!! <3

Gwen & Mac – Hooray for Hollywood
Here’s the result! ♥
Night-time is romantic, mysterious and beautiful (ok not to mention, cooling!). This entire Engagement was shot in Universal Studios Singapore. Which is really a gorgeously retro place for shoot! ♥ I heart the place.. with its little dark winding alleys, vintage cars park all along the road, jukeboxes..
Ooh did I mention fireworks??? (I WANT TO LIVE THERE!! LOL)

Jeremy & Tracie – The Girl From Ipanema
“We were like two giggling school girls on photoshoot day…” was Tracie’s first response when I delivered the photos to her. And that is exactly what I love about the two of them. Tracie and Jeremy is such a Happy Couple! Their laughter’s and smiles are contagious and they truly look like they belong to each other.
Ok am I getting too mushy here??
Their album’s entitled “The Girl From Ipanema” not cause that’s where Tracie is from… But because that was the song that was playing when they first met! (Now is it not movie-like or what.)
I can’t wait to shoot their ROM this coming mid-December. Till then, enjoy these pictures peeps. =D

and, here’s my very favourite from that morning. Doesn’t it look straight outta a 60′s movie?

“I don’t need to hug or hold you tight
I just wanna dance with you all night
In this world there’s nothing I would rather do
‘Cause I’m happy just to dance with you”
The Beatles – I’m Happy Just To Dance With You
Wendy & Lawrence – Happily in Love
you know, it’s really hard to shoot a fellow photographer. Cause you know he knows what you are doing and is watching your every moves. Haha. So I was quite stress when shooting Wendy & Lawrence (who takes pretty awesome pictures himself!) but I was being unnecessarily-worried, as usual.
Both of them were totally awesome and easy-going, we went for walks around Haji lane, eating ice-creams, we went kite-flying at meadows and mosquito-feeding (gah!).
Wishing you two a blissful marriage and stay happy always!
(ohhh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY WENDY!)

Adriel & Winnie – Larger than Life!
innie and me were classmate back in the uni days, so you can imagine my excitement when she contacted me for a shoot. I knew it’s gonna be a blast cause being a Designer, she has a lot very interesting ideas for the shoot.
Yayness. ♥
I named her album Larger than Life cause all the props used in this series are so… big! Giant gift box, huge pink ice-cream, giant puffs, bundles of colourful balloons and large friendly dogs.
Oh and she even hand-made (yes HAND MADE) the tulle skirt she wore in this shoot. To be honest, I ever tried making a skirt like that, failed terribly. Here are some of my favorites, sun was gorgeous that day. Weee!
Evening Gown by Amanda Lee

Justin & Melody – Old World Charm
Macau is much much more then bright Casinos and noisy jackpots. Its full of the yesterday charm thats slowly but surely disappearing.. Full of winding old alleys, hauntingly beautiful hundred-years old churches.. and of course yummy egg tarts (who could forget that!).
With a tripod in hand, we explored the little alleys… and found some delightful spots…
I find it indescrible but I fell in love with Macau the first time I visited (thats last year). There’s just something about that place that charms me so much. Its kidda like an older HongKong, kidda like a step back Yesterday where Loves are True, where neighbours are friendly and where there are no worries about Tomorrow.
Justin and I had actually talked about migrating there when we are of retirement age! Well one can dream. Anyway, here are afew of my favourites. Hope you find Macau as charming as I do.
- in anticipation of

Lastly, my favourite of my husband, “The Flying Thief”.

Pss.. Anyone whos keen on having a Prewedding / Engagement Shoot overseas or at Macau, drop me a mail at ohdearphoto@gmail.com .. I promise it would be gorgeous!
Peter & Bingling – Guitar Heros
Typically I like to interview my Couples (that’s if they are not too shy! ) about how they met, their hobbies and their jobs and what’s not. I always love a good love story and also these helps me to know more about them and personalize their shoot.
So when I asked Peter and Bingling to tell me about themselves, they told me about their love for StarWars, for Guitar Hero, how they met and fell in love.
So what better way to bring out Guitar Hero (it’s a game by the way, I didn’t know until I meet them! Haha) then to go to a actual Guitar Shop itself and ROCK IT OUT!!
After which we held a “party” with the birds at the park (LOL!) and lastly some quiet quality reading time.. =)
Hope you guys like the photos and may Peter&Bingling have a blissful marriage!!

Hi Sweetheart ! – 海派甜心 Inspired Engagement
Have you watched , 海派甜心 before? It’s a Taiwanese Drama starring Show Lou and Rainie Yang broadcasted earlier this year. It’s an extremely adorable, not to mention funny and romantic show about how Dalang (a certifiable dork who comes from a wealthy family) and BaoZhu (who’s an eccentric and friendless punk) falling in love..
(Screenshoot from show – 海派甜心, Hi My Sweetheart. Image from google.com)
Of course there’s more than just a love story to it, but you would have to catch the show to know more!
When Celine and Shamus wanted to do this as the theme for their shoot, I was super-duper excited.
It’s a whole bundle of fun, not to mention super attention-grabbing! Why, we were shooting at the bustop when this excited bunch of teenager-girls stopped and started snapping pictures of them.
Celine and Shamus were sporting enough to do every silly thing I asked them to. Aww.
Have I gushed enough? Okay, here’re some of my favourites.
I hope you guys like the pictures as much as I do..
(Click Here for the Full Album.)

this really happened! We were shooting halfway when he announced he need to use the washroom.. so we waited. and waited. and waited…..

Stan & Joanne – Kissing the Rain away
I was actually all annoyed before Stan&Joanne’s shoot cause it was Raining the moment we prepared to go out!! But luckily, everything cleared up nicely when we reached the first location! wee…! Sky was a clear blue, cooling winds were blowing and birds were chirping.. even the duckies came out to play. (you will see later)
After all the beautiful places, we went to vivo city for a quick Shoot. Why? Cause that was where their First Date was! Years back.. Revisiting the place *that exact spot*, they recount how funny their was. I did a Comic for them based on their story.
– > (Click Here to see the comic)
Have a Blissful marriage Stan & Joanne and enjoy the pictures! =D

Brenda & Dylan – HelloKitty & Dino !
Dylan and Brenda knew each other way back in Secondary School (wow that’s like 10 years ago) and man, are they so sweet to each other! They shared with me this scrap-book that they handmade together, full of sugar, spices and all things nice! and I also made my very first debut Engagement-Comic (click to view!) for them. Heh.
Thankfully it was a gorgeously sunny day that morning and here are some of my favourite. Enjoy!
