Edwin & Adeline – Just because I Love You

one of the first place that I did my shoot at is this beautiful meadow near Hort Park. It’s actually in the mid of nowhere thats quite inaccessible unless you’re driving.

I discovered this gem of a place when I was shooting my own Engagement photos, (my friend helped me with this, with a super retro film camera, but that’s a post for another day)
The greens are always gorgeous, sun is always beautiful there.. Only lacking thing is unicorns and rainbows. HAHA.

So I was glad when Adeline & Edwin choose this place to shoot part1 of their photos, brilliant. I love her gown and I love the whole mood of the photo..
Part2 was a totally different feel. A very city-feel which I think makes a fab contrast to the green photos. ;) ) Enjoy the photos guy~

Brian & Jasmine – I ♥ BJ!

Something about this album’s quirky title tells you how crazily fun this very sweet couple is. I enjoyed the time spent shooting them a lot. Guys, thanks for having me and I seriously think you guys are the cutest!! have a very blissful marriage!! xoxo melody

Yusoff & Sharifah’s Surprise Engagement Party

This is the sweestest proposal shoot I had ever done. Everything was so carefully planned and beautiful. Seriously, I wanted to cry sometime during the shoot itself.

It was Sharifah’s birthday and Yusoff secretly booked a yacht, invited her friends along and even hired a wedding gown for her. We got her to close her eyes while Yusoff walked her to the yacht.

The sun although set a wee bit early, but the night was still magical enough.
Yusoff proposed to Sharifah just as the fireworks well off.. with 99Roses nonetheless!!

Like a real-life fairytale lah!!

Ok abit from my side would be, it’s my first time up on a private yacht, I was uber excitied and nervous at the same time. I wont lie and say it’s a breeze to shoot (although it was very windy on board).. The yacht was bummy, wet and slippery and I had to perform.. Well, at the very least, Thanks the gods I am not sea-sick-prone.. But luckily for me, Both Sharifah and Yusoff were extremely not-camera-shy! So I can pretty much say we Rocked the Shoot.

Now for photos….

Sam & Chris – To Somewhere only We know, leave the World behind..

To make good photos, good Light is the key factor.

I had harp on this alot of times over the years, but I think the best timing for shoot is 8am in the morning, there the lights are cooler and really gentle.
Sam & Chris is one beautiful couple I shot on this morning where Mother Nature was feeling extremely generous..

Enjoy the pictures people. ;)

Serene & Noel – Something Classic Something Dreamy

I must had repeated myself a million times, but I find it extremely adorable for couples to bring in their own ideas and Likes into their prewedding shoot cause it shows so much about them.. It was actually my First time shooting cute costumes like this and I found it very refreshing.. I like! so, Couples, please come in costumes next time k! hahaa. (kidding)

Enjoy the pictures please!

Shanna & Keven – All the good o’Times!

I really really enjoyed shooting Shanna & Keven.. It helps that New Majestic Hotel is a really fab and gorgeous place.. But I think what I loved most is this Couple’s endless and crazy energy.. Together, I think this is a brilliant set of prewed if I do say so myself!!!

Prewedding at Bali with Niki & Jaycee – Day3

Because the weather was rather gloomy while we were over there, we had a last third day of shooting.
This series was shoot entirely at this gorgeous gorgeous villa we lived in, Kajane Mua.

It’s this private villa set in the mid of a paddy field, with waterfalls and paddy field inside the villa itself!
private pools to each villa. its was beautiful I tell you, I didnt wanna come back to Singapore!! =(
But I would def go back once I have the spare cash!!!

Joel & Esther – You’re my Superhero.

I have here with me a SuperHero Themed Engagement shoot to share today. Its uber fun and 100% sweetness. Joel & Esther’s idea was a silly and cute superhero shoot around Town. So there was the story of how Joel hates taking the public transport (same here!) and how SuperHero-Est is there to rescues him! Haha..

So I made them hippy-Hop around town, ran around with swords and attracting much curious looks. Heh!!
For the second location, we went to this very very nolgastic sand-playground that must had been the Love of all the 80s-Kids like us.

This adorable couple knew each other since they were little kids. I say, that’s so so super duper sweet,
to grow up and grow old together..

Have a blissful marriage Super-J and Super-E!

David & Melissa’s – What are Words when it’s Love

It was my first time shooting at MBS area, yes I know.. sloow! In fact, it was my second time there only! Because normally I prefer shooting at greeny places or buildings that are older, and I thought MBS might be too flashy and new. Boy was I wrong. I love the result of these pictures, plus I think the HotPink gown really adds a pop to all these photos. What do you think?

And.. I must had repeated myself countless of times, but i always always try to tell a story when shooting preweddings and Engagement. The last location for this series was shot at the very place this lovely couple knew each other. Learning guitar.. so please enjoy this series.. What are Words when it’s Love.

Miko & Marco – Melts your Heart

Miko & Marco is a very sweet (and good looking couple!) so goes the title, and also, because the day we were shooting was unbelievably hot!
But at the end of the day, the evening sun was unbelievably warm and beautiful too. So please enjoy these beautiful pictures on this rainy day afternoon..

\

Jus & Alvin – Love is Fun and Goofy!

I had the pleasure of shooting Justie and Alvin’s part2 Prewedding. This fun and wacky Couple took part1 of their shoot in Taiwan, so they wanted something more fun, less serious and also with their doggie (you can hardly pack a puppy into a suitcase can you?)

^ I thought this picture is hilarious. Puppy was all like -__-’ ”Are we done yet?”

^ (This was actually just a Test-Shot.. Meaning I was testing the settings on my camera.. But i love the turn out.. slightly outta focus, but enough to see the elegant smile.. )

^ Blown Away. Literally.

Keith & Peggy – Decided on Forever.

There’s one of my ‘favouritest’ set (is there such a word?) of Prewedding. It was a pretty boiling HOT day but hey the sun was golden! I had such fun.

Well, the shoot would not be half as successful without the couple trusting me, and I think another half goes to the assistants.. they are like the unseen Heros of any shoots. Helping to fluff the gown, blow the bubbles and maybe even chasing away people who are blocking us. So a small tip to brides hoping to have a fun and easy prewedding or Engagement shoot, get one of your Bff or a sister along to help~ She can help to adjust any falling straps or hold the bouquet or just be there to help you feel at ease. =D (of course I help I will with the falling straps too. =P)

meanwhile, as usual, enjoy the pictures peep. =D

^ Tiny Detail tells a story too.. every petal, every smile and the Gown’ delicate patterns..

^ Beautiful Expressive Eyes.

^ This is my favourite-est-est photo in the whole series. I shall try my best to explain..

 I love how the whole background looks like a set from my childhood fairytale stories. No matter the age, I guess a girl still do cherish those precious tales. So yes, im not the least bit abash to say I feel this feels like a English Palace Garden, with our Princess and Prince ‘s Happily Ever After! =}

here’s something a little different from the usuals.. Sparkles Flying.. Quite literally!

And lastly, here’s me and the Couple.. Oh and the ‘Unseen Heros’ of the shoot, the assistants. =D Big Thanks..

Oh also, I had made a tiny behindTheScene video of this lovely shoot on my Facebook, You might be interested in seeing how ‘Bubbles are Made’. Click HERE!

Lyanna & Colin – rewinding & forwarding the TimeBar

I had the pleasure of shooting Colin & Lyana a while back.
I like to think of the shoot as rewinding the TimeBar because we had a shanghai theme where Lyanna don the most gorgeous QiPao. I think to carry out a QiPao, not only do you need a slender frame, there’s a certain feel to it too. Womanly? Graceful? Whatever magica it is, I think Lyanna brought it out very well. Colin is great too of course. Heh.

Forwarding the timebar, we went back to where the couple knew each other. NUS..
So here’s their very lovely and serene Engagement Shoot. Enjoy..

Kenneth & Jessie – Mickey <3 Minnie

Recently I been shooting alot at Botanic Garden and nope, to answer your questions, im not “sick of shooting there” as opp to what you might think! (alot of my couples ask me the same thing. hahaha) Greens are.. erm ever-green, classic! They would never look outdated so yup, that would be my answer.
Okay actually I would love shooting at green places if only singapore is not so hot. X_x

Anyway, my parents recently found me this new quaint little spot and I think its gorgeous for shoots. What do you think? ;)
And of course, Kenneth & Jessie sweeten the place alot. I though they look very sweet together.
and oh yes, it was extremely funny the way kenneth was carrying a bowl of biscuits and randomly feeding the fishes in the ponds as we were strolling through the garden. LOL.

so enjoy the pictures peep. ;) and have a great week ahead!!

Shuwen & YongHeng – not unlike a Painting..

Some couples are beautiful, some are serenely-loving and some are just pure cuteness. ShuWen & YongHeng ‘s in the Cute Department. we went to the beach, the forest and the tracks..

and Oh Yah, one word of advice to you lovely peeps, if you are thinking of having balloons for your shoot, yes Helium ones look pretty, but they are might troublesome. They last only say 10-12hours, so you would have to either get them very late the night before shoot, or very early before the shoot.. and, they always go insane during the shoot whenever there’s the slightest breeze.
So I would advice getting balloons on stick. Not only can you blow them up yourself (save some pennies!), they are easy to manage during a shoot. So yes, bear that in mind oh! =D!

meanwhile, enjoy the pictures and have a lovely weekend loves!

Felicia & James – A story of Bustops & Calculators Part1

Felicia and James are the last Couple I took to the now-history-KTM railway station.
Also, they are the first couple who used PokerCards as props. It was so funny because the KTM station was so crowded and we literally had to elbow our way around, stop people from snapping photos of “The Wedding Couple” and also throw pokerCards around.. =D

My couples always ask me what is the best time for shoots.. Well in my case, I would say Morning! As early as possible! Yes I know I know, it kills me to wake up at 6am too (shoot is 8am!) but the morning sun is really gorgeous.. and the greens are always dewy and shiny with morning dews.. Beautiful.

So anyway, enjoy this shoot peeps.

Canny & Edric – Life is a Picnic

I always always try to make our shoots as personalised and as meaningful as possible. Recently, I had took to requesting small writeups from my couples.. so that I can know them more. Many of them share with me their story such as how they met, some funny incidents etc. Which I LOVE. I mean, its real-time, true-account love story, (not some unrealistic korean sappy drama).. so whats there not to like about?

So during Canny & Edric’s brainstorming session, we decided on the idea of ‘slowing down the busy pace of life, and enjoying each other’s company’.. after all, a wedding is more about pretty frocks isnt ? Its about the days after that One Big Day, the days spent with each other.. waking up annoying each other, enjoying tea/coffee with each other. =)

Here’s their Engagement, taken right in the middle of RafflesPlace, right on a monday morning. =D!

James & KaiLing & Heidi

More then Often I’m being asked what is the best time for photoshoot. My answer might be right, could be technically wrong.. but its always “MORNING”.
Yes I hear the groans.. but please believe me~ Morning lights are the prettiest, it’s also cooler around early morning and most importantly, it’s NOT crowded everywhere!
Well, of course not at the crack of dawn, how does 8am sounds to you guys? ;)

I have here with me today a mini-post.. of James & KaiLing & Heidi, taken early in the morning. Fresh, awake and Cooling!

Please Enjoy.

and here is a unique Cinemagraph from the same session..
Enjoy the Sea Breeze..

Jason & Elizabeth & Minor Morris 1000!

There’s just Something about vintage cars that are different from the new-generation of flashy sports-car. Given a choice, gimme an old motor anytime! Every scratch every peeled paint tells a story..

I had the real pleasure of shooting Jason & Elizabeth and what was MORE exciting was that they are gonna have the shoot with two very special cars.
A real vintage 1957 Minor Morris that was his Gramps’, passed down to his Dad.. and now its His.. aaaahhhhh!!! A real treasure. Ohhh also this very same Morris took part in this year’s chingay too. ;D

And along for the shoot came a Land Rover. It was my first time on a Land Rover and woah! its so Different!

Jason’s dad collect antiques and he bought along some old tv set, phone and a couple of other tinkers.

Filled with gorgeous Sunshine and real vintages, I present to you.. Jason & Elizabeth & Minor Morris 1000! Enjoy!

Gerald & Adelynn – Mr & Mrs Bunny

I’ve been shooting for a year plus and at the start of every shoot, I still do get butterflies in my tummy. ‘will the couples be ok with this?’, ‘will i run outta ideas?’ ‘will i will i?’
So i was doubly nervous the morning I went out to shoot  Gerald & Adelynn, cause Gerald is a photographer too! You know he is watching and knowing what you’re doing. Haha. paranoid much.

But it turned out a breeze to shoot them (well apart from the rain that come half way)

I entitled them Mr&MrsBunny because they brought along a pair of bunnies (who have their own wedding suits as well, apparently hand-sew by Gerald. wooh!) and have similar poses to the Bunnies. cute max.

I love their outfit as well… because you see, outfit plays quite a large role in the result of the photos as well. well-though attire would bring out the best in Couples don’t they.
If you need some ideas (for the gentlemen), here’s a small sample list of Outfits for the Gentlemen  and also a small sample List of what Props to Bring.

Anyhow, here’s me presenting.. Mr & Mrs Bunny. Enjoy!

Cinemagraph – a noob attempt

The first time I saw a  Cinemagraph, i was completely captured by it.
The stillness of it captured in a frame , yet there’s something more..
there’s subtle movements within the still.

“ Cinemagraphs are more than a photo, but not quite a video. “

Yes its slightly creepy, in a beautiful serene way.. and the tiny fact that im a harryPotter fan doesn’t really help here.
I was, you can say, totally obsessed with  Cinemagraphs.

and here’s my 1st noob attempt at it.. I promise I would work harder to make it better!!

Mitsuru & Stephanie – 幸せな結婚

The day shooting Mitsuru & Stephanie was so fun.
we climbed up to the railway track only to shoot afew snaps before it started drizzling.

So we went over to the Railway Station (which saddly is going to be history from July onwards. Noo!!) and the moment we stepped outta the car, tourist started wanting to snap photos with us! Hahhaa I was asked to join in too, most probably they though im so Japanese-Photographer. Heh.

I loveee how the photos turn out looking so SO vintage-Japan. Stephanie look so dainty doesnt she? ;D
For the second part of the shoot found us in casual, climbing trees and picking flowers.

So enjoy the picture peeps and I wish Mitsuru & Stephanie a very 幸せな結婚!!

The Journey

In every shoot I does, I try my darnest to make it as meaningful and as personalized to the Couple as I can.
Not only do I aim to have a “Oh thats so pretty comment” (of course I love it), but I want the Couples’ friends to go “Oh thats so Them!” as well..

A picture tells a thousand words, how true. and here’s a Journey of a Couple thats’ told by me, through my lens..

as usual, Enjoy peeps.
